Pre-Cana Marriage Preparation Guidelines This is a preparation for Hispanic Couples and is taught in Spanish.

PROGRAM GOALS • Prepare engaged couples and couples in existing marriage for the Sacrament of Matrimony. • Offer integral formation to couples who desire to be united in the Sacrament of Matrimony, in particular on the following areas: psychological, financial, theological, sexual, and ecclesial.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CANDIDATES OF THE PROGRAM The couple is principal required is to meet with a priest of their parish. Without this interview the couple cannot be admitted to the program. On the day of the program the couples are required to present the following form. Couple must stay for the entire day to receive the certificate. PROGRAM CONTENT 1. Recognizing our Roots 2. The Art of Communication 3. Our Family Economy 4. True Love 5. Sexuality and Matrimonial Intimacy 6. Moral Decisions in the Marriage 7. The Sacrament of Matrimony 8. Paternity and Maternity Responsibility
CERTIFICATE At the end of the day during the Celebration of the Eucharist, a certificate will be awarded to the couple for their participation, which can be presented to their parish.

METHOD AND FORMAT • A presentation by a team couple takes place. • Candidates reflect on presentation. • Candidates dialog as a couple. • Candidates have an opportunity to share with other couples. DATES FOR 2010- 2012 The program is offered every three months with previous announcements to the parishes.

LOCATION AND SPECIFICS
The program takes place at: Diocesan Pastoral Center(map) located at 290 South Arlington Ave. Reno, NV 8950.
Registration begins at 8:00AM and concludes at 8:00PM. Couples arriving after 9:00AM will not be admitted. They must stay for the entire day to receive the certificate. Couples need to bring their own lunch. Dress should be casual and comfortable. PROGRAM COST Program cost is $50.00 per couple (non-refundable) from the Diocese of Reno, and $60.00 per couple from outside the Diocese of Reno. The registration fee includes: Continental Breakfast, dinner, and program materials.
