Prison Ministry

Jesus called us to visit those in prison.  The Diocese of Reno provides ministry to incarcerated people at the following facilities:

• Warm Springs Correctional Center, Men Medium Security, Carson City,  Saturday – 8:00 am
• Northern Nevada Correctional Center, Men Medium security, Carson City  (off Snyder St) Sunday – 8:00 am
• Nevada State Prison, Men Medium security, Carson City, Sunday – 10:00 am      
• Stewart Conservation Camp, Men Camp, Carson City, Friday – 6:30 pm  
• Lovelock Correctional Center, Men Medium security, Lovelock,  Friday, Father Tony Quijano  
 
Sherry LaGier ministers to the following:

• Ely State Prison (Maximum security)
• Ely Conservation Camp
• Wells Conservation Camp
• Carlin Conservation Camp
• Humboldt Conversation Camp

To volunteer the Nevada Department of Corrections requires a background check.  Once approved volunteers must complete a ½ day orientation training along with receiving a TB test – these steps are required to receive clearance from the State to enter the prison system.
